Detailed description of project:

 

This project sought to bring together both the interests and actions of key local and regional actors in order to accelerate market-based policies and enterprise restructuring to promote competitiveness. The IME and BARDA partnership on this project ensured that certain obstacles to economic development on company and local level will be removed faster and more efficiently. The operational approach presented a practical first step on the way to a comprehensive national economic development framework.

An innovative company categorization model as per growth potential has been developed, tested, and implemented. The model is available for the further use of BARDA Regional Development Agencies and other local and regional organizations as a substantial part of a sustainable national network of regional agencies and business centers, whose high-quality services will contribute to the improvement of the state of small and medium enterprises, stimulation of employment, and acceleration of the economic development of the regions in Bulgaria.
