Detailed description of project:
Two-year project to assist the departments and agencies of the Bulgarian government to reform the content and administration of enterprise regulation, particularly regulation pertaining to the creation and operation of SMEs. The project focused on:
- Review and simplification of the administrative procedures and requirements regulating businesses in Bulgaria.
- Formulation of government policy to creating a more conducive environment for private sector development.
- Design and implementation of a pilot saturation survey of SMEs in collaboration with the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute with the view of assessing the coverage of the national business register.
- Assistance in the design and establishment of “one-stop shop” for business registration.
